My Design Theory
I govern my design aesthetic under the harmonies of Principle (integrity), Pattern (form), and Purpose (function).
I believe that there are very different outcomes when these different elements interact with each other. I believe that a strong interaction between Principle and Purpose may be ok for some, but I think that it delivers a boring product. Likewise, I believe that a strong interaction between Pattern and Purpose can yield designs that are more conceptual and “outside the box”. Also, I believe that designs with strong Principle and strong Pattern will almost always captivate your audience, entice, and pick their interest.
However (and there is always a however), there can always be a little chaos lurking around the corner, and when it is added to the equation… particularly with a conceptual idea, I have discovered some pretty pleasant surprises.
Graphic/Web Design Skill Set
My strong proficiency in Adobe CS Suite, WordPress, and other graphic/web design programs, combined with my vivid and vibrant design aesthetic, which have been fine tuned by higher education, make what I do not only a passion, but a pleasure. I bring Me, my 10 plus years experience, and my creative capacity to the table, and I believe my work speaks for itself. By combining exceptional knowledge with excellent designs, I will always deliver outstanding results. Don’t just take my word for it, hear what my clients have to say below.
“James is Jazz In The Alley’s graphic designer and also my dear friend who I have known since college. He is an expert level graphic designer who has been designing for years. He designed this year’s stage banners, flyers, website banners, press passes & t-shirts. I am so grateful to have him in my life. He is a Jewel.”
James was highly recommended for great graphic design work by a good friend. I needed an eye-catching flyer for a birthday celebration. I reached out to him and he was very professional from the first point of contact through completion of the project. He did an amazing job.”
I was very impressed with the quality of work and the professionalism that went into creating my vision for my construction business. He is very good at what he does.”
We were recommended to James’ services by his sister. We have known James for years, and didn’t know that he was such an awesome graphic designer. We were looking for a fresh, simplistic wedding invitation suite, and he designed beautiful save the date, formal invitation, menu card, order of service, rsvp, and thank you cards. He didn’t have to do so, but he printed all of our stationery for us and covered the printing cost as a wedding gift for us. Superior customer service skills.
“I have used James for a range of graphic design elements, and have found his service to be creative, timely and accurate. Whatever it is that I ask of him, he will go out of his way to do it, almost no questions asked. His input and suggestions have helped me develop and enhance my brand on a refreshing level, and to a high standard… And I am not just saying this because he is my brother.”
“The unique Wedding Stationery that James created is both attractive and elegant. I appreciate James’s attention to detail, and I am pleased with how quickly he completed the project. Thank you for doing such a great job designing our Wedding Invitations, Save the Dates, and other stationery.”
“We are very pleased with the design of our Event Flyer. It has been a great experience working with James. We would definitely use his services again for future graphic design needs.”
“James is AWESOME to work with. He is incredibly organized, easy to communicate with, and delivers beautiful work. I am a fan. My family LOVED the T-Shirt that you designed for our event.”
“I was looking for a logo that summarizes my company into one image. I contacted James and he delivered. He produced a stunning design that spoke to my heart. He was great with feedback when it was needed, and modifications were made at once. Thank you!”
“I am very impressed by James’s ability to literally read my mind and deliver a branding solution that symbolizes my vision and conveys the stylish, modern image we needed to start my catering business.”
