I have inherited my love of fragrances and colognes from my parents! Not only did I inherit their good genes, but I also inherited their appreciation for the lighter and finer things in life. I remember being a young kid and walking into my parent’s bedroom and noticing (at any given time) about 40 bottles of cologne and perfume sitting on top of the dresser, and thinking to myself, “what does any one person need with all of these colognes and perfumes!” I didn’t understand then, but believe me when I say that I understand now. There are 365 days in the year and each day is a day to smell absolutely amazing! Colognes match the occasion, the season, the outfit, the mood, and there is, without a doubt, a fragrance out there that was made just for you! I have found my most favorite scents that I absolutely adore and love to wear. I am not THAT fragrance blogger that has about 200 bottles perfectly lined up on display, that layers 4 different scents and can take one sniff of a fragrance and tell you all of the overtones, undertones, and hints. No. That’s not me. But I do want to share with you my top 12 fragrances (in no particular order) that just, quite simply, do it for me.
Citizen Jack Absolute
Olfactory Family: Woody, Fruity
Top Notes: Bergamot, Mandarin

Base Notes: Tonka Bean, Musk
This cologne is my go-to day-to-day cologne. I wear it everywhere… to the office, casually, and during the evenings. I love this cologne because it is an all-year-round cologne. You can wear it anytime, for any occasion and smell terrific! I would say the scent lasts about 8 hours.
Creed Aventus
Olfactory Family: Woody, Fruity, Fresh
Top Notes: Lemon, Pink Pepper, Apple, Bergamot & Blackcurrant
Heart Notes: Pineapple, Jasmine & Patchouli
Base Notes: Birch, Ambroxan, Cedarwood, Oakmoss & Musk
This cologne gives strength, power, and success. I feel sensual, bold, and ready to take a risk on something amazing when I wear this cologne. LORD it does come with a hefty price tag, but sometimes it is ok to splurge on the finer things in life. The scent lasts for a LONG time, especially if you moisturize before applying.
Baccarat Rouge 540
Olfactory Family: Woody, ambery, floral
Top Notes: Jasmine Grandiflorum, Saffron
Heart Notes: Bitter almond, Cedarwood
Base Notes: Musky woody accord, Ambergris accord
This fragrance lives in my TOP 3 scents that I have ever smelled. I feel like royalty and importance when I wear this fragrance. I would LOVE to wear this fragrance daily, but I have to wear this one sparingly because it is rather expensive. The scent lasts for upwards of 8 hours easily. This fragrance is definitely one of my go-to, signature scents because it is one of those fragrances that you can wear all seasons. I absolutely love this fragrance.
Jean Paul Gaultier – Le Male
Olfactory Family: Fresh

I have worn this cologne for YEARS and it is one of my iconic scents. The clever bottle design was one of the first things that made me take notice of this cologne so many years ago and after that first spray, I was hooked. This is definitely a timeless fragrance and the scent lasts a long time. It is subtle, clean and makes me feel ripped out the plastic.
Gucci Guilty
Olfactory Family: Fresh, Clean, Seductive

I was pleasantly surprised by this fragrance when it was presented to me as an option to try if I wanted a fresh, clean smell. I don’t usually go for fresh and clean, as I gravitate to more of a fruity, warm, spicy genre. But this one caught my attention. I think it was the after effect of spraying it and not really liking it at first, but after it has had time to seep into my skin and I just kept going back to my wrist to have another sniff, even after the hours have passed. Yeah… that part. So I can say that this one has grown on me because of the potential… not the immediate.
Straight to Heaven

This MASTERPIECE has me in a chokehold… I can’t even lie. EVERYTHING is just right with this fragrance from the way it lingers like a lovers touch, to the way it lasts and lasts and lasts. This fragrance is a TREAT… only worn when I am wanting to give bae something he can feel, to let him know that this love is REAL *wink* *hahahahahaha*. This one is VERY expensive and the epitome of luxury! I would wear this fragrance when I want to leave them breathless in the most seductive way.
La Nuit De L’Homme
Olfactory Family: Warm & Spicy/Sweet Gourmand
Top Notes: Cardamom
Heart Notes: Citrus-fresh bergamot, woody Virginia cedar and bright lavender
Base Notes: Coumarin & earthy vetiver
This intense, seductive scent is another one of my go-to fragrances when I am going out for a night on the town or on a date with bae. I mean, it literally means “man’s night” so wearing this fragrance will make the evening into the night even better. This one has to potential to get overpowering if not used sparingly. Because of this, I would practice restraint as a little dab will do you! This one lasts for hours on top of hours. I wear this one when I want to exude sex appeal and mystery.
Tom Ford – Lost Cherry

Heart Notes: Turkish Rose, Sour Cherry, Jasmine Sambac and Plum
Base Notes: Peru Balsam, Tonka Bean, Cinnamon, Vanilla, Cedar, Cloves, Sandalwood, Patchouli and Vetiver
This is one of those fragrances that both men and women can wear. I love this fragrance because it is seduction in a bottle! When I wear this, I want to be freshly showered and moisturized with this scent all over me. I want to be in front of a fireplace snuggled up with bae under the covers *wink*. I was pleasantly surprised by how long this scent lasts. With the strong heart notes of cherry, I thought this one would be a little overpowering, but it isn’t. This one is definitely my “sexy time” cologne.
Night De Paris Motion

When I tell you I have never been so blown away by the smell of a cologne in my life, this one takes that top spot! I would say that this fragrance is my favorite at the present time. The scent is long lasting (it stayed on me for over 9 hours!) and the complements were endless. The opening of the box is a treat in itself as it is absolutely beautiful and so is the bottle. My only disappointment with this fragrance is that it is super expensive for the quantity that is in the bottle, so this is one that I HAVE to use sparingly even though I want to wear it 24-7!

This one was one of those hidden gems that was suggested to me at the fragrance store as a gift for husbae! He is not really that big of a fruity, floral cologne guy, as he likes more woody fragrances, but I took a chance with this one and he LOVES it. I LOVE smelling it on him. As I have said before, fragrances smell different on everyone. It is all about your body chemistry. It smells ok on me, but I prefer it on him. *wink*
Marley – Simmer Down

THIS cologne is my new FAVORITE! I just happened to stumble upon this gem when walking into the fragrance store and it was on feature. I am all about a fruity, floral, and woody cologne and decided to test it out. WOW! I was blown away! This one smells absolutely AMAZING! It is easily in my top 3 favorite colognes. It is very subtle and the scent only last for about 5-6 hours on me, but I am living when I am wearing this fragrance!

I receive so many compliments when I wear this cologne. This is another year-round cologne that I tend to gravitate to because it is so versatile. I always try to keep a bottle of this around because it is just amazing. I feel masculine and exude subtle sexiness when wearing this cologne. It lasts a LONG TIME and is not too overpowering.

I am always mindful about when it is appropriate to wear cologne as sometimes it is not appropriate, especially around those who have allergies and sensitivities. I encourage you to be mindful as well.

Less is more: I target my pulse points… the wrist, and behind the ears. I never want to overwhelm anyone with my favorite scents.

I suggest testing fragrances before purchasing them. Test a small amount on your wrist and wait to see if any sensitivities, irritations or reactions occur. I would also test to see how it interacts with your body chemistry. What smells good on someone else may not smell good on you.

Remember to store your fragrance properly. Do not store in direct sunlight. Also keep in dark, cool place away from heat as this can lessen the quality of the fragrance and not make it last as long.
