I’ve always heard that the blacker the berry
the sweeter the fruit…
you see, we were cultivated and harvested…
grown from the root.
There is nothing quite as satisfying as
the taste and flavor
of freshly picked blackberries…
a taste that is meant to cherish and savor.
A drop of dark nectar
touches my lips and my tongue first
and then it coats my throat
and begins to satisfy and quench my thirst.
No…
I won’t waste one drop!
If it drips down my chin
I won’t wipe the juices away,
I’ll let it marinate into my skin.
So when shopping for precious fruit
just pass by all the other ordinary produce
because the plump blackberries
have the sweetest juice.
