The person that you see…

There can only be one me

and the praises go up for that miracle…

I’m just ordinary me

trying to turn ordinary words into something lyrical.

I’m not Shaq feet tall

or short like Danny Devito.

My voice isn’t deep,

but never, ever too shallow.

…not ugly by any means,

But God isn’t crazy about pretty either…

I’m glad that you can’t see the scar tissue

that resides deep inside…

The result of mis-information

Dis-information…

infection leads to inflammation,

Defamation…

of character…

The fall often comes swiftly after the pride.

So as far as looks goes,

Those are only for the outer skin.

True inner beauty will always be the opposite of sin.

The real Mona Lisa

hangs deep within.

You see, I am a work of art,

a masterpiece that has aged to perfection

without a sound

sitting silently smiling…

But my VALUE,

it screams loudly and transcends my material composition…

My mission

is to just be me,

the person that you see.

I am my brother’s keeper,

but the truth only goes deeper.

My path to salvation

often encounters deviation

when my brothers become unjust

and continue to betray my trust…

and thus, taking everything that I have left to give,

and not pouring back into the vessel in which I live…

And so, I had to make the necessary choices

to release those malevolent supernatural forces

of confusion…

rage…

savagery…

before they oozed from my skin…

preventing me from just being me…

the person that you see.

But because I am a prince of The Throne on High,

I am far past just an ordinary life, here’s why…

I was placed here by divine design.

In the grand scheme of things,

my heart shows compassion and my soul sings.

Loved eternally.

Blessed exceedingly.

Forgiven mercifully I am…

Forever passionate, forever creative, forever brilliant,

forever grateful to The Lamb

that I can just be…

the person that you see…

Fearfully and wonderfully made…
